Model based on the Heller 1/72 Mirage V, converted by using
sheet plastic and filler to add the fin extension at the forward base of the vertical stabilizer and the
under-nose pitot tube using small metal tubing and rod.
Markings came from the Hasegawa 1/72 KFIR and AML Mirage IIICJ... and depict Nesher #561 of the
IAF's 101 "The First Fighter Squadron". Giyora Epstein flew this Nesher during the Yom Kippur War and
amassed quite a victory tally with it. I've always liked the look of the Nesher and was really drawn to this
aircraft when I found a color picture taken of Mr. Epstein posing in front of the nose and have modeled
the kill markings exactly as they appeared in the photograph. Until I found the picture of Mr. Epstein, the
most kills I'd seen on a Nesher were four on Nesher #592 of "The First Jet Squadron".
